Thank you for your interest in the Genetics and Developmental Biology program
at West Virginia University. Over the years, we have built a program that combines scientific rigor with flexibility. Our multi-disciplinary faculty represents a rich range of academic interests, providing students with a wide variety of research areas to pursue.
In addition to our outstanding on-campus educators, we enjoy close connections with some of the leading scientists in the field. Our students have collaborated with scholars at the National Institutes of Safety and Health, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, and other leading universities, becoming proficient scientists in turn.
We encourage our students to be involved with the scholarly and professional community of our discipline. Over the years, we have had a number of students earn honors from organizations such as the Environmental Mutagen Society and the American Society of Animal Scientists. And our graduates have gone on to take leadership roles in the private and public sectors.
