   Insect Ecology & Pest Management

                                                           Emphasis on spatial ecology of insect populations

Spatial ecology of insects and spatially-targeted pest management strategies using GIS, remote sensing, and satellite-based positioning system.

Ecological and biological control of insect pests with emphasis on pest sampling plans and integrated pest management (IPM).

Ecology of pollinator insects and management of pollinator-associated pests, emphasizing on diversity and insect-plant relationships. 

ENTO404 Principles of Entomology

(4 cr.).  Covering insect biology, taxonomy, ecology, and advanced entomology.  Insect collection is required.

 

ENTO412 Pest Management

(4 cr.).  Covering pest management theory and practice.  Acquiring pesticide applicators license is optional.

ENTO450 Insect Ecology

(3 cr.). Covering ecology and behavior of insects including lecture, lab experiment, and field trips.
