Organic Farm, Agronomy
Potatoes, wheat, forage soybeans and rape are grown in rotation in the
farming systems experiment.  Soil is sampled every fall and cover crops of
rye/vetch and cowpeas are included in the off-seasons.

Animal Science
The farming systems include a comparison of crops with and without
animals.  Sheep are the animals included with potatoes, wheat, forage
soybeans and rape.  They graze permanent grassland from which hay in also
made to feed them in winter.  Three years of short term pasture are
included in the farming system with animals.
