Link to WVU Extension's Land Reclamation Page Service and Extension Activities: Surface Mine Drainage Task Force. I help organize the yearly spring symposium and coordinate Task Force Tours and other activities. West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. I serve on several committees within the department in the divisions of Mining and Reclamation, Abandoned Mine Lands, Water Resources, and Waste Management. I also teach workshops and organize tours on reclamation and water quality issues for inspectors and adminstrative personnel.   Land Judging Program. I coordinate this 4-H and high school education program within the state, develop teaching materials, and run land judging contests in the state. I also consult with coal operators and support personnel, state and federal regulatory people, land owners, and citizens concerning mining and reclamation issues, and water quality problems in the state. I also serve on several university, college and division committees within West Virginia University.
